And a completely new design fits in well with it

This is the latest version of the Windows operating system, which features a new interface and other new features, such as the new Microsoft Store, a new AI-powered personal feed and the best browser performance since Microsoft Edge, Chat by Microsoft Teams integrated into the taskbar and much more! New in Windows 11: – Windows 11 will get a completely new look. Microsoft clearly needs a good reason to refute its previous claims and continue to abandon Windows 10 by introducing a new operating system number. The Redmond giant has long been preparing a redesign for the update under the codename Sun Valley (“Sun Valley”) – it seems that Windows 11 was under this name. The Sun Valley project appeared on the web for a long time – Microsoft, in a way, regularly revealed details about the new interface style, insiders shared previously unknown information, and designers popular in their circles drew realistic concepts based on all this information.

– Startup and system items will float above the bottom bar

Start is the calling card and face of all the latest versions of Windows. It is not surprising that in Windows 11, developers are changing it again, but not so much from a functional point of view as from a visual one – the Start window will move above the bottom bar. We must admit that this small change makes the system look much fresher. Judging by the information on the network, Microsoft will not radically change the “interior” of this menu – innovations affect only the design of the window itself. The control panel will also float, and its design will be exactly the same as the “Start”.

– The right angles will disappear, and they will be replaced by tabs

The action center will be combined with the control buttons into one – a similar one has been used for a long time in other operating systems. Almost all mentions of this new menu indicate that it is an island – the control buttons are located on a separate panel, notifications are on one, and certain items (such as the player) are on the other. In fact, insiders and concept designers disagree on this issue – some are convinced that Microsoft will not change its traditions and stick to right angles, while others are convinced that in 2021 Microsoft will follow the fillet trend. The latter fits better with the definition of “all-new Windows” – mouse pointer menus alone are not enough for the new look to be considered truly new. Tabs are expected to affect practically everything in the system, from context menus and system panels to all application windows.

– There is a translucent background that fades everywhere

True, even on this issue, the opinions of concept designers differ – some draw fillets on all possible interface elements, others combine them with right angles. The network disagrees on the style of the window presentation island, the design of the corners and the levitation effect of the menu, but almost everyone agrees on the transparency of the windows. Most of the design leaks and renders show transparency and fading in all windows, be it at least the Start menu or Explorer. Moreover, these effects are even in the configuration of the canceled Windows 10X operating system, which Microsoft developed with two monitors and weak devices in parallel with the Sun Valley project. The so-called acrylic transparency involves the use of new effects when hovering over elements, as well as increased spacing between elements – the areas of the interface with which the user interacts will certainly become larger, and the titles of the pages will be bold.

– A new font, which was already shown

Windows 11 will probably use the default responsive Segoe UI Variable font, which already appeared in Windows 10 Build 21376 for Insiders. Its advantage is that it is equally suitable for small texts as for large ones.
